hi i am getting my new 5ft fish tank on friday and i am looking to use it as a breeding tank for my bn's what type of ground do you thing would be best for these fish gravle or sand i also have caves to go in and some rusty slate rock was just wondering if any1 on here could help me with some ideas to help these amazing fsh breed and what would be a good male to female ratio in a tank this size i.e 3 males to 9 female any help would be greatfull thanks

i personally would use Gravel sand gets dirty really quickly and also Gas can build up under the sand and cause problems, i would have a trio in there then there is plenty of room for all the fry Laughing

you could have a good fair few in there then Smile i wouldnt have more then 3 males though, or all they will be interested in is fighting instead of breeding

i was thinking of haveing 3 males an 12 female being a mixture of common bn's albino bn's and long fins this should be fine then an as for the bottom im gone to have gravle

on a serious note though i think your going well over board on the amount of bristlenoses in that tank mate.

sorry mate but thats even worse.
you are asking for trouble with the males fighting. you will get better results with 2 males and from time to time this will even cause you problems.
