natural selection im afriad Sad

In a batch of 100 eggs it is not uncommon to get several die off, i have had up to 20% die off as they grow. The trick is to get the dead fry out of the tank ASAP!! as they will pollute the water, as horrible as that sounds. Don't over react with water changes as that may send the tank into a mini cycle and fry can not stand ammonia.

Just keep the tank stable and clean. I do 20% changes every 2 days or so, and i make sure to remove all old food, for this reason i feed them cucumber as its easy to remove.

good luck and fingers crossed thats all that pass away

ditch the jmc pellets theirs too much protein in them mate. just feed them cucumber like doug said also fry love mushrooms well mine do anyway and they dont foul the water.also alge wafers and make sure they have some bogwood aswell.
temp 24 thats fine
cut down on the water changes and keep testing the water fish live in their own toilet not clean water.
over cleaning will send the tank into a new tank syndrome state and you will end up with unstable parameters. if youre worried the water isnt right give a sponge fillter a squeeze into the fry tank this will help put things back to normall

Thanks deano right then ill ditch the pellets and get me some cucumber doesnt look like ive lost anymore thankfully ..theyve had bogwood pretty much since theyre yolc sacs have gone i then took a big piece from the convict tank which has plenty of algae growth on it (no plecs in the tank anymore the convicts wouldnt play nice) so they appear to be munching away on that quite happily ill leave off with the changes for now but keep an eye on the water qaulity ill give the tank a squeeze from one of the filter sponges later too just to give it a bit of a boost thanks so much for taking the time to reply guys i really wanna get this right !
