Online sources of bogwood.

I'm looking to get some more cover in my tank - are there any online retailers (remember I'm in the UK not down under !) who you've used in the past ?

Ideally I'm looking for 3 pieces - preferably fairly complex with lots of "caves" and cover.

I never use to go for bogwood till I got a couple of pleco, at first I was scouting the internet too but found the postage cost often more than the actual item.
I went to my local fishery and asked, the guy said 'look under the tanks' on the floor under every single stack of tanks was like a forest of bogwood, rocks, everything.. I was amazed I'd never noticed it before..
THe bit I got is like a cave too, so it has a duel purpose and it was only £5.. It's quite big. (I think you can see it in my 30 gallon picture)

The only online place I know would be eBay but again the postage will top up the cost.

just wondered as any one used real pineapple shell in their tanks too,,,

I know coconut shells are good but what about pine apple shells....

Coconut shells, that's a great idea.

I do like coconut shells and they cut nicely, though must admit he hate coconut so usually on the look out for freebies there...lol...

i do like going to the odd charity shop and picking the odd spine shells up too, my BN are always breeding in those..

they also sometimes do bargain small vases that can be drilled, which make good escape caves too

I use these after the birds have finished them, just soak them in hot water to remove the suet residue
then trim one of the ends for an entrance the hole for the strings also stops the shell from floating.


Finished article with pair of Jellybean Convicts, but it's my male BN cave of choice in their tank and I also have Kribs using them.

Now those are more what I'd probably get, I like coconut but not that much. I'm sure we had some of these last summer in a local shop.
