Your males will not discriminate against colour, they will let & trap what ever female in a cave for mating, if she is ready...Your colour outcome of the fry is usually approximately 50/50..
You may get some light brown colourings (calico or marble) But only if the parents have the genes...But thats a maybe...

I have a breeding pair of ancistrus teminkii and a breeding pair of peppermints in one tank both are different species, and they get on fine.... just do regular water change as normal and watch out for territorial disputes when the males can defend their caves Smile

Are you asking about colour results from crossing bns or are you concerned about the males fighting ?...
to have two males in the one tank you will need more caves than males, and you will need least a 3 foot tank for the males to stay out of each others way......I personally wouldn't keep two males in the one tank...just in case as they can get nasty and injure the weaker male...

Ok this can be a varied question to answer..

Though I have been able to identify my peppermint L071's at around 3 inches, however
I do know others that have been harder and sometimes had to wait until they are about 5 inches.

I currently have 4 male and 4 female peppermints in my main tank with a breeding paif of ancistrus teminkii.

I do a water change on that tank every other day or every three days if my schedule is tight.

My ancistrus breed about twice every 6-7 weeks.

My peppermints are quite young but I think they are showing signs of pairing off as we speak Smile

love the tank sizes... sounds ok to me... like most of us we vary our aquariums as our stock changes I think... lol

all the best...
