| Hi, will try to attach a pic of my fem albino (but did have probs doing this before).
She's been on top of the filter all day, not moving (but still alive), so out out in the open and under the light, whereas normally she's scooting around the bottom of the tank somewhere, so behaviour not normal for her.
Not sure if you can see in the pic but she's looking pretty rounded in her body, and dark underneath. Sure she's not normally looking that fat. Checked the helpful post on bloat but she doesn't look like she has the other symptoms.
She's 8 now, so old age perhaps? Her partner died in the summer, same age, apparently just of old age though, they were breeding still up until about 3 weeks before he died.

| oops, have prematurely posted this in the cemetary! Not a good sign can I move it? or does someone cleverer need to do it for me? Not sure if the pic link worked, but have tried to put it in my gallery album incase it can be viewed there. | |

| moved As they get older they do seem to get more sensitive to bloat, like most old timers the old digestive tract starts to play tricks is she still eating? Have to say though, 8 is a good innings for a female bristlenose | |

| Thanks.
Was expecting her to be belly up this morning, but she's down on the bogwood by the cave, still keeping still.
Didn't see her go for the fish flakes when I fed the danios, and the algae wafer got stuck on top of the cave when I tried to drop it near her, so expect one of the babies will find it first. Got to go to school so no time to sit and watch unfortunately, will check back in on her at lunch.
Guess it's one of those things, she's old and I know her time will be up soon, so anything unusual makes me worry.
All the babies and the older ones look ok, so hopefully it's nothing catching if she's ill.

| Thanks. Really weird her not being there, she was so obvious next to all the brown ones. Still, I have a fair few of her large and small babies swimming around, and more have gone to other people's homes, so I guess she had a fairly happy and productive life. | |

| Sorry to hear this sad news, I missed the whole topic, Sounds like there was nothing you could have done. Maybe she was just old & spent..sounds like she left some lovely legacies..Good luck with her offspring.. Hugz | |

| Thank you. When the male died a couple of months ago, I did suspect that he had bred himself to death! Thought they might stop as they got older but they just kept going til they died. Lovely fish anyway, and healthy offspring in a variety of sizes still to look at.x | |
