Breeding diff species in same tank

Currently have a trio of albino bn breeding in a 5 foot by 2 foot tank. Now soon to purchase 2 trios of adult peppermints. Now my question is should i keep them in the same tank together will they still breed well or will they get along? I can divide the tank using eggcrate to 3 sections to seperate them but this will make it look a bit ordinary. heaps of hiding holes and caves. Will they try and breed with each other eg fem albino laying eggs in male pep cave? anyone with experience please fill me in.

Your albino Bn will not breed with the Peppermints.

Your tank is big enough for 3 trio's, the Peppermints will get bigger and more aggresive than the albinos so this could be a problem. You could try it but keep an eye out for the albinos getting bullied especially at feeding times and for caves.

Jim is right. I would suggest getting the albinos out of there and giving them their own tank. Having them in there will just cause issues, maybe not big issues but prob enough to stop the albinos from breeding. If you only have the one tank then i would section it off with 4ft for the pep pairs and 1x2 ft section down the end for the albinos.

you can get some nice material to section tanks off these days, some of them 100% removable. I recommend getting a bit of sponge cut so it wedges tightly into the tank. that way it divides the tank as well as provides extra filtration as the water passes through it
