Worried about my breeding male Empty
PostSubject: Worried about my breeding male   Worried about my breeding male EmptyFri Mar 04, 2011 10:04 pm

I have been taking 'Big Boy' out of my main tank in his cave with the eggs in and putting it in a seperate tank which has been working really well...
He normally comes out with the babies about 2 weeks later... When all the babies are out and he is out and about I put him and cave back in my main tank...
Problem is, within days of being back in the main tank he is sitting on eggs again. So there is only about 14/18 days between lots of eggs... (this time was 14 days)
Really worried that this is too much for him... That he isnt having enough time in between to feed properly and get his strength back up...
What do you guys think???

Not so sure on this as i have unfortunately not had the opportunity to breed BNs yet, although, if you have a tank big enough to keep lots of fry in, maybe you could keep him in there for a couple weeks extra between spawns, or you could introduce a tank divider into your breeding tank, then when you are ready to spawn, remove it Smile

Hope this helps Very Happy

James
