concave stomach on bristlenose fem

have an albino b/n female.
had seen her on the glass the last couple days and noticed her stomach seems to be really sucked in,,!
seperated her into a home made fry saver and tried to feed her up..

she;s not eating but she doesnt look too fussed either..

not sure whats going on ant help would be appreciated..

What are the BN's tankmates, is it possible that it's being out competed for food?

If it did appear to be feeding properly before this then it's possibly an internal bacterial infection, in a way it's similar to bloat but it causes the fish to lose weight rather than the bloating.

Something like Myxazin or eSHa 2000 which are broad spectrum bacteria treatments may be useful, try rubbing some veg with garlic, which is an appetite stimulant, to encourage it to feed, lets hope you have caught it in time.

Is she a solitary BN or do you have others, because if there are others in the tank then you need to seperate the affected fish to another tank to stop the risk of it spreading.

funny that cos i had a case of bloat that i got rid of about a week or two ago.. now this..!

tried the garlic thing to the sick bristlenose and doesnt look like it wants to eat at all

other tankmates are bristlenoses its part of my breeding colony..! actually i think i just found another one that doesnt look as concave stomach..
see its pretty weird cos they've been breeding aswell but not sure which ones..?!

So anyways ive dosed tank with DMZ "dimertdozole" i think its called accidently cleaned off half the label on jar anyways DMZ helped with bloat before so hope that ..

I can't say I've heard of DMZ "dimertdozole" and a search on google came up with nothing. My concern is that some medicines need to be run at half dose for twice as long for scaleless fish otherwise thay can do more harm than good.

Have you done any tests on the water in the tank, in case there is some undelying problam caused by poor water conditions?

yeah water had a mini cycle that finished couple days ago..
just cleared that up..!

LOL just checked the spelling and its called Dimetridazole for sure
i got told by a really good source that its ok for bristlenose as he uses it as needed..
only probs is it messes round with beneficial bac..!
