As the titles say the parents are a male Bristle (regular) and a female Bristle (Green Strain) - So this is my first post back on the forum for a while - All I did differently was to remove all of the corydoras from the tank - I had a growing shoal of peppered cory that were growing in numbers so I rehoused them. 5 days later it's egg city in the pleco tank.
I'm not sure what the babies will be classed as with a regular father and a Greenstrain mother, any ideas?

im not too sure but im thinking it would depend on the strength of the green strain. if the mother comes from a week strain (common in her bloodline) then i would have to say the fry will probably be mostly if not all common coloured. i wouldnt mind seeing a pic of the mother as the green strain isnt something im that familiar with. i know of it but it was my understanding its a rare strain and hard to come by. rarely hear people talking about it. probably non existent down here in the aus Sad oh and congrats on the fry and actually having a green strain bn Very Happy

I may be wrong but I believe the the Green strain is a colour morph of the common, often called a Green Dragon Bristlenose in the States.

There is clip of one on on YouTube HERE

I will try some pics tommorow - The fish came from Wharf Aquatics (Derbyshire) I paid between £6 - £8 (8 AUD - 11 AUD) for the fish as a fry so believed it to be a rarer species than the common. The tank seemed to be all female, finding a male has been a quest. I keep checking back hoping more will turn up. Smile

I'm not an expert but i think your description is correct about it being a morphed colour although I'd say she looks more like a common (With Green Spots) than the one in the vid (if that makes sense)

I will get some snaps or a vid tommorow if poss. Smile
