PostSubject: stepdad bristlenose   stepdad bristlenose EmptySat Feb 04, 2012 5:01 am

ok its been a while since my last lot of bristlenose eggs but i lifted the driftwood yesterday and noticed a nice clump of orange!

so i moved the driftwood to my grow tank without the dad bristlenose but placed the wood so the air bubbler was flowing air past the eggs. ( just experimenting this time round)

well thismorning i had a look and seen a male i already had in the tank has taken over the egg protecting duties. im now hoping this lot are a success.

i will keep you all posted.

it happens every now and again. Because having eggs increases the likelyhood of him breeding if he comes across some unprotected eggs he might take them over. I know that some L number breeders deliberatly take the male L away and send in a bristlenose stepdad as they are less picky and less likely to eat the eggs

Sounds like could be fungus... I'd pick out the pale ones and put the rest in a tumbler. pale

Could be fungus as was already said, maybe try and save the orange/yellow ones and put them in a fry saver, and the others maybe too far gone. I am sorry. stepdad bristlenose 484291715

Sometimes as was my experience last year, because the Dad died, they had a coating on them but with good aeration, many of them turned out okay and became orange /yellow again. scratch

All the best!
