I actually added 2- 1 inch clown plecs and a 2.5 inch Gold nugget plec in with my babies when they were an inch long and all went well. This was in a 40 gallon tank.

Why crank up the temp? Why move the cave? And, where is it now? First you mentioned moving the adults. Your posts aren't really clear.
If you don't really have to move the eggs - don't. It's always stress for the father and there's a chance that he'll abandon the eggs. If you have them in breeding tank and you want them in your main - bad idea - fry will be pain in the back to catch without demolishing half of the tank (assuming that you have some plants/rocks/etc there)

what i was saying was,i have a breeding tank with fry,all adults had been moved to another tank, that tank had started leaking so i was asking if the adults could be put back with the fry, there was a cave still in the breeding tank and the temperature was lower than that in the old tank as i had dropped it,along with the water change to trigger the original spawn, so i was then asking/stating i guess i should have removed the cave and turned the temp back..

sorry if it wasnt clear.

But the new batch have hatched and the female from the original spawn has also layed again, they hatched two days ago.. Very Happy

Congrats! So you have pleco factory now. Very Happy Mine are breeding in main tank every 5-6 weeks so I had to build the traps for the fry. I don't wanna move the adults because every time I catch them, the old guy disappears for a month and, you know, I like to see him time to time, not only know that he is there, somewhere. Very Happy
BTW: having frequent spawns has great advantage - since they started I didn't spend a penny on this hobby. All trade-in.
Good luck!

thanks Very Happy i did a major shuffle yesterday and put all my peppermints into the 4 ft tank and put the female albinos into the now empty 3 ft juvy peppermint tank away from the poor male so that once the new batch have left he can have a well deserved break..poor guys been at it for 3 weeks Shocked ...is it normal for female albinos to lay every 2 to 2.5 weeks or is this one just a freak.
