At what size do longfins start develop there longfins

I'm asking this question as I got given a couple of Albino Longfin Bristlenose juveniles. Say about 4. I done a search but couldn't find the answer. Now the Longfins to me see like normal fins at what size if they start to develop there Longfins should they be. If this has been asked before can you put the link up please cheers.

interesting question. Normally you would expect to see the difference in fin length at about 2cms. anything over that and it will be obvious Smile

what size are the fish you have?

At about 5 weeks old my albino longfins start to show tails but they seem to take ages after that to get to a decent size

i see them start showing long fins at about 1 1/2 inchs

Yeah, that is a good point, Longfins do seem to take longer to develop Sad

That is why I like to get them into a bigger tank asap.

DOUG what size tank do you use as a grow out tank for long fins

heavily overfiltered 4ft tank (210 ltrs) which is full of wood, and I mean full of it. About 20 pieces. takes ages to get it all out to catch them but the surface area is great for them.

im using a 3 ft 40 gal breeder that has about 4 times the filteration that a normal tank that size has but i don`t have that much wood in mine but i will try it
