BN fry help Empty
PostSubject: BN fry help   BN fry help EmptyWed Jul 11, 2012 5:57 am

Ok i had 11 Bn fry that were about 1.5 months old, and yesterday and today I had 7 die. And i also had 30 2 week old fry that all died. Now i had put the 11 older ones in a breeder setup i have inside my 55 gallon tank. The others were in a 10 gallon rank not by choice but nesicessity. Only tanks i have, and BN decided they would breed on me. I think when my wife replanted a couple of plants and rearranged the tank it caused it to spike and i was out of town last night si could not do water change. The 4 1.5 month olds i have left now look like the have something growing on them or their spots are raised any ideas on what it could be or should i be worried. I tried to get pics but they don't turn out were you can see the raised spots.
The other thing i have noticed is my drift wood piece now has white areas on it that were not there before, any ideas?

Any help would be great. And first time ever breeding fish so any help would be great. [strike]

Hmmm I'm not the big expert doug is on fish diseases but it sounds like your bn fry could have ich aka white spot. If it is then the best thing to do to treat it is up the temp to 30oC (86oF) and treat with a whitespot treatment. Still it's hard to know what's wrong with your fish just from the description, pics are alot more helpful. There is also more helpful tips on treating ich in the hospital section of the forum

Pics would really help. Are the spots white, like grains of salt on the skin?
