Ladies & Gents....

How much should i expect to pay for 2 SF colonies of BN.

Colony 1 - ALBINO
2M 3F - Females have all got LF gene - Males 9-11cm, F - 7-11cm

Colony 2 - COMMON
2M 2F - All SF, All between 8-11cm

All have bred before and provide spawns between 70-120 per female....

I was thinking
Colony 1 - $250

Colony 2 - $150

What do you think?

The fact they have the long fin gene doesn't mean jack as far as I am concerned. they are either long fin or short fin, otherwise, they could be lying. I never sell my fish as shrotfin with longfin genes.

I would think you are close with group 1, maybe a bit much. group 2 way over priced. you can get us at the shop to order those 4 fish for $140 retail. I would be saying $100-120.

That's 85 euros!

Over here I'd expect to pay no more than 25 euros per group. Juveniles from either species will go around 1-2 euros each.

Unfortunately fish are way more overpriced here in aus so we have to take it as it is. As Doug said those colony's are overpriced. I'd try talk em down a bit more and yeah it doesn't matter what genes, you are buying shortfins so that's how they should be priced

Funny really. As an outsider on the other side of the world I'd say you could breed fish in Australia without spending anything on heating. Stick up a few solar panels and you could even run your filters for free.

On the plus side, there's interesting fish you guys can collect from the wild if you live in the north.

not during winter lol (like now) especially when you live down south australia like me and Doug. unlike the people who live up north we do need heaters for our tanks Sad but your right tho, up north in queensland is where the majority of the fish breeding is happening...

Thanks guys.

Yes it is a bit chilly here in winter & in summer i never run my heaters, even when we have the AC blasting Wink

I figured it was a little too much so i passed on them early this morning as the seller refused to lower their price but hey if they get what they are after, then good on them Very Happy

Wow, looks like fish are cheaper in the Netherlands then here in Germany.
So much for one happy Europe.
