I generally keep my tanks gender specific to avoid rapidoverpopulation. I am in the midst of getting things set up for a BN breeding project. I have 3 males and maybe 1 female. Anyways. I was planning on moving the "female" to a male tank when I wanted spawns. Basically I don't want them breeding a jillion babies like guppies and mollies. I plan on turning one of my tanks into her "home tank" where she'd be the only algae eater. Would this work?

My qestion is: When the breeding is done and I move my female back to her bachelorette pad what would happen? Would she still develop eggs? Can BNs become egg bound like reptiles?

How do you guys control your breeding colony?

nothing, if a female doesnt breed then she will re-absorb them.

To control the breeding you remove the female just like you say. Just make sure to acclimatise her across between the tanks
