Hi there! I'm Ivy. I've looked around this site a few times but just decided to join. But of course, here's what you're really interested in. I have two Bristlenoses! They are the sweetest little things with faces only a mother could love! <3

Hi, I'm new! 16745_10200195506680313_892985607_n_zpsc08838b4

Liliana on the left and Merlin on the right! I'm not sure of genders but I named them what I liked. If you have any information on the genders I'd love to know it!

They are currently set up in a 10G tank while my 30G is cycling. So far they don't seem to mind and it's been a few months. I keep up on water changes very well, changing their water every 20 days at about 20-50% depending on ammonia levels. I've had Merlin about 6 months and used to keep him with my goldfish until his driftwood started catching on the flowing fins of the biggest goldfish. Liliana has only been with me about 3 months but has adapted nicely! I run the tank with an air stone and Aquaclear 50 power filter. It is covered with white sand and has two large pieces of driftwood. It also houses a large water sprite. =)

I am looking forward to getting to know you all. A little about me, I am 20 years old and go to school for culinary arts. I will graduate in May. In addition to BN plecos I keep Bettas, Bala Sharks, and Goldfish. I currently have over 200 goldfish because they keep spawning =p But BN's are so cute and adorable I can't stop staring at them! I love my two and hope for many more in the future. I want lots and lots of BN tanks! =) thanks for having me here!

Boys, sweet! I'll have to rename Liliana... something more manly =/

I have tons of fry pics. Where would you think it best to post them?

Hehe I thought you would! As I understand forum etiquette it would be appropriate to either 1) post on this thread since it was requested on this thread or 2) post under the fresh photos subforum.

Posting on the fresh photos subforum would probably yield more hits as people don't expect to find goldfish fry pics on a welcome post.

Thanks!

And a more manly name doesn't have to be in order! I have a female cat named Steven. We thought she was a boy when we first got her as a wee kitten. I also have a female turtle named Charles. I paid the breeder $15 to send and me a sexed male (I thought they would probe or something.) Once she was big bough to sex visually she is definately a girl!

New post it is. I'll be sure to get them for you asap. I have documented my oldest (4 months) extensively. =)

Lucky you =) Was she spayed? Or do you get to have little kittens of your own?

She was technically my roommate's cat and she never had her spayed but somehow did a good job of keeping her indoors and she never had kittens. As soon as she became my sole responsibility I had her spayed ASAP! It didn't effect her behavior or weight at all. If ever my old roommate is in a situation where she can have little (6lb) Steven back she is more than welcome to her. She still calls and asks about her, I send her pics all the time too.

Hmm that's odd I can see them no problem. Can you see her pics of the goldfish fry on her other post?

I view the forum via iPhone 4S.... Not sure if that makes a difference or not.

I use photobucket and sometimes it's touchy but if you refresh the page it should show up.

Oh, just saw you found it. =p

Heya and welcome to the forums!
You've got some lovely looking boys there. The males are defined by their gorgeous 'head of hair' or what I like to call moustaches! Hahaha. Females usually don't get bristles on their nose, though if they do, it is only small ones. Looking forward to seeing more pics of your 2 boys Very Happy

If you need any help at all, just ask. There's a lot of experienced people here and we're always happy to help Smile
