Subject: Question about driftwood Sat Mar 16, 2013 7:34 am
I was at Petco today looking at prices of different items, and I noticed that the only driftwood they have is actually in tanks, with some fish. Would it be better to buy driftwood that's in water or dry? If I were to buy driftwood from a tank, how would I make sure there's nothing harmful (like Ick or something) on the wood before putting it in with my fish?

I like to buy wet ones. saves having to soak it yourself. If you are worried about illnesses then i would soak in a bleach solution.

You could also boil it if it fits in a pot.

Trick to soak smaller pieces - toss it into the toilet tank. Water is changed every time you flush.
