Algae Wafers and fuzz balls.. Empty
PostSubject: Algae Wafers and fuzz balls..   Algae Wafers and fuzz balls.. EmptyTue Mar 11, 2014 4:26 am

Hey guys been breeding bristlenose for a while now got close to a thousand I reckon. Anyways been splitting them up into various sizes into various growout tanks and feed them wafers and vegies. When I feed wafers they tend to not eat them after they have soaked all the way through and any that remain for a couple of hours never get touched again. Having so many bristlenose makes me worry about them not getting enough food so I might be over feeding them. Anyways the current is high so the left overs get pushed around so hard to remove and then a day or two later I get floating fuzz balls of decomposing wafers. Thinking of building some sort of perspex feeding bin so I can lower it with the wafers then easily remove the wafers after a couple of hours or so. Anyone do something similar to this? Maybe just a submerged bowl that shelters from the current to stop it getting pushed away so I can syphon the remains out easily.

Yeah I most likely am but I guess I feel like im not feeding enough wafers when I have 20 4-5cm bn trying to feast on one wafer.. Might just make sure they always have veggies and then drop in a few algae tablets.
