hi was wondering what people think i will get
after loosing my breeding female i got a longfin brown female
who has spanwned with my albino male short fin laid on friday morning and have wriglers today monday
very excited to see what they are

I dare say you will get a mix of albino and common shortfin. Maybe lucky and get some common longfins bit I don't think they will produce any. Unless the albino has longfin genes from somewhere along the line

That's actually a tough call. As far as albino/common goes it really depends upon the genetics of your female. Is she has the albino gene then you should get half albino and half common with an albino gene.

The long/short fin trait is even harder to predict and I Am not sure it even follows standard Mendellion genetics. For example, my first spawn of a LF common to a LF calico produced 4 long fins and 2 short fins. It may be that more than one gene is responsible for determining fin length.

Either way congrats on the spawn and keep us updated on their progress Smile

i had a common and albino cross i got all browns and 25 % were long finned
mind you the albino cane from the same cross long fins

well they are 3 weeks old about 50 50 brown and albino not sure but think i got two albino longfin and 5 brown longfin about 40 fry in all

The happy couple spawned again last night six weeks from last time first spawn 1650918589
fry growing and eating well only lost about 4 maybe 5 cant wait to see the new batch
