| Hi all, I live in Reno, Nevada and while I've bred ABN's for 2 years (still have my 2 year old paired adults and a few of their offspring) and finally just 2 weeks ago had a successful pairing of my mature female ABN and a young Calico male. Whoo HOooo ! Anyway, I was tickled pink to find a some L144's in my LFS which is a chain store so there is not a whole lot of availability on what they can order. Big surprise ! Price tag was steep for a fish barely 2 inches long $24.99 USD also Big surprise ! but I alway purchase Tropical fish Hobbyist magazines and know there is always a coupon in there for that particular store. 25% off so I went for it even tho the fish is barely 2 inches long. Kinda wondering tho, if an L144 pairs with a Calico...What do you get ? Calicos ? | |

| Probable spawn: some fake L144, some calicos, some weird looking and a lot regular, common BNs | |

| not having the L144 being very common over hear I have not had any experience with them. The first thing I would be looking to answer would be if they are real L144s. that will prob make a difference | |

| So can someone clarify. Is a false L144 essentially a fish that looks like an L144 but with mixed parentage ? So if you were to breed the false L144's, you would get mostly L144's ? and would you then have to breed the L144 type offspring from this pairing to get true L144's ? I'm finding this all rather interesting. I wasn't planning on breeding different varieties, was just curious as to what is dominant. | |

When you cross 2 colors of unrelated pure strains you usually get 100% all brown as they convert back to the wild color. | |

| True L144, Not the "fake L144 swhich should be sp4" here in AUS Doug The First L144 to make it through customs, the importer got caught & jailed but by that time, the fish had been passed on | |

| I have L144 and calicos I have crossed them before just to see what happens you get a lot of brown some calicos and just a few reds I guess the calico throw just enough color to change the yellow L144 to red/orange color | |
