well-i was wondering if the bristlenose would eat discus fry?
i started out trying to raise bn, but ended up with alot of discus instead. i have about 50 or so discus fry in a 55g tank-and was wondering if i could add a bn or two to keep the tank clean.

ive never heard of any BN eating fry, bristlenose are very friendly towards other species, my dad has a 5ft malawi tank with loadsa cichlids in and i gave him 3 of my L182's juvi's and they havent been near them.......

You can only try mate but iam 98% sure they will be fine....... Nice one

I know several discus breeder who have Bn's in their breeding tanks without a problem
I have them in all my discus tanks excluding breeding tanks
they are only not in the breeding tanks as my breeding pair and 2 younger pairs will not lay with Bn's in also

Surely 98% safe , I've kept common B/N's , gold spotsx2 and one common plec in with my Blue Eye Cichlids when they had a few batches of babies ( and tiny fry they were) and had no problem at all, if any thing the blue eyes were the ones causing the problems- very protective parents.
cheers J

I have bred Discus for many years and always had at least one BN in each breeding tank to help keep them clean. Only had one problem with an adult male attaching to the side of a discus and eating the slime coating off. Never bothered the eggs as far as I could see. HTH
