| as you may no my bns are breeding like crazy well i thought morris was fanning eggs till i spotted some new lot out then 2day ..that means 3 batches in tank so i decide to do a water change and take out the caves to stop them spawning later ..and morris has now abandoned the cave and hasnt gone back ..maybe because big mo had only gone and spawned again ..on a rock ..hummm .then morris goes to the rock to do his part ..so hes now egg sitting elsewhere ..
so i lift out 1st cave which is tucked behind a dec then as im removing the other it still has a few babies ..i mean the eggy type look like little orange eggs with tails ....lots of little babies and egg half eaten sacs...
before i could even do anything they start falling out the cave and disapearing off.....i quickly stick a jug under it catch a few and put the cave in upturned ..as dads now left them and i cant get cave back in without struggle and babies out of a tank i decide to put the cave with babies in another tank just eggy babies no other fish .. its got plenty algae but did i do right thing or would dad have come back and is there anything i need to do as these are soo young .. cheers kaz x

| The fry always do better with dad around, but if he's abandoned them for some eggs that need attention there's little more that you can do other than you are now. Just make sure there is plenty of water changes. We've reared eggs that were rejected by the male and raised a good 70%+ of them, so don't panic you're doing everything you can | |

| No worries They'll live on their yolk sacs and then start on the food when they're ready. | |

| High k.bod, the only other thing I can suggest is head of to the shops and buy yourself a 10ltr cake storer(like tupperware ) , they are a perfect size for most breeder nets- then you can put some original tank water in it , add baby fish and then slowly acclimatise your baby fish to new tank by slowly adding the different water to the cake bucket, not that this is of help to you now but will be beneficial in the future. | just a update all eggy babies are doing great well there not eggy anymore lol but you no what i mean ..
infact i didnt think id saved that many but a head count totals 80+ so maybe i did ..theyre doing great and growing well regular water changes are helping them grow faster and eating lots of veggies and algae tabs ..
picked up a butternut squash (mistook it for a sweet potoatoe) not 1 for cooking as you can tell lol ..but the babies actually love the stuff ..infact i put a slice in all my tanks and it seems this is a firm fav incl for my corydoras who love it ..
