Just trying to get an idea of how you guys have successfully shipped your BNs. My biggest question is; would using 100% oxygen pumped into the bag benefit a BN? I know most aquarium fish can handle it, but labrynth fish can't becasue they gulp the air causing burns. I have witnessed BNs gulping when I had them in a tank with probably too little water flow. Once I added an airstone they stopped. So I am thinking they would only gulp if the O2 was decreased which would be prevented with the oxygen in the bag....

the use of oxygen for bristlenose is fine. the oxygen causes the water to have more oxygen and therefore they wont gulp.

I dont ship, but do transport for 6ish hours sometimes. The constant breaking of the surface fom bumps etc on the road, also helps transport the CO2 out & O2 in.

I was once a member of a society that stocked the rivers with fish.

From memory we would put "about" 2000 fry into a roughly 50lt plastic bag.

Less than 10% of the bag had water and the remainder was filled with oxygen.

Bagging the fry was a lengthy process. We would then load the cars and drive up to 3 hours to our stocking location. There a team of stockers would be waiting, the fish would be allocated then driven to various locations along a specific waterway and released, sometimes another hour. In all the stockings I was involved in I did not ever see a single fry perish.
