| i got a 3ft 30cm by 30cm i was wondering how many bn am i able to fit in here also after reading dougs book theres are no mentioning of females. i was thinkin of 3 males and 6 females would it be aight or is it overstocking? | |

| You may get away with two trios in a 3ft tank. Even if you put caves at either end of the tank there is the possibility that both males will want the same cave and spend most of the time fighting for it.
Give it a try if the males are happy then your OK if not you would have to think about removing a male or dividing the tank.

| I think you will find I do mention the stocking the females.
"1 male per 1.5 square foot of tank bottom and two females per male"
by that rule two trios in a 3ft tank. However, this rule can be bent with the addition of rocks and logs etc. will it be a species only tank or will there be other fish in there too? | |

| i will have a pair of peps also i am goin to add 7 long fin abn approx 8cms only 2 shows signs of being a male atm also it will be a bn tank only no other fishes will be added although i might add cherry shrimps in | |
