| Subject: How and what age can you sex ? Thu Mar 04, 2010 9:25 pm | |
| Hello all - as per the subject - at what age / size can you start to sex your Bristlenoses and what should I be looking for in terms of a female or a male ?
What kind of growth rate should I be looking at as well from a jouvenile ? I think this would be a useful addition to the site as part of a breeding FAQ. I'm planning on starting a regular thread to monitor the growth of my L144 pictorally - I've measured each of the favourite spots so whilst not a very accurate guide I should be able to get a less subjective view of growth as I know how big they are - and hence how big he or she is. I'm picking up a new SLR next week - so at least this time round the images will be in focus. | |

| You might be able to sex from 2 inch by looking at the head and mouth However sometime both male and female L144 grow bristles The male will have bristles up it's nose and head and the female if any will only be around the lips / mouth | |
