I know we have a lot of Austrlian members and hope that if there are any based in the South East Queensland area that has been affected by the flooding are all safe and well.

I know lots of you are in Oz but I'm not very familiar with Oz geography.
I just want to say how sorry and sad I am to read about the dreadful flooding and hope all of you and your fish, families and pets are safe.

PostSubject: floods and bristlenose in Australia....   Floods in Australia EmptyWed Jan 12, 2011 3:56 pm

After i myself was left homeless for 7 months during the Uk floods of June 2007 I know only too well how bad a
natural disaster can change your life, faced with full insurance it still cost me my life savings and put me in debt,
and I had many stressful and tearful nights alone.

While it happens, and the flood waters are expected to get worse you are left shell shocked that it could get worse Sad
and though the aftermath seems terrible I can assure there is light at the end of the tunnel...

the floods were one reason why I got myself a dog as a companion to help get me through the stress...

as such me and my families thoughts are with those in Australia which are disrupted by flooding..
we have friends and family there still.....

here's to a speedy end to the disaster...

love and wishes Lj

Its pretty bad guys, not to put too fine a point on it.

Mooo is on the front line but she is OK, has some crazy piccys though!!!

Im ok down here in South Australia, we are just muggy and raining, when its meant to be about 35 degrees.

The flood water will begin to drop down in most of NSW and and QLD except on the western side of the range where it is still raining heavily. Although that wont be as bad as it drains pretty quickly...down to my neck of the woods, my firend is on the Murray River and is expecting some issues.

Fun times Sad

Granted we were in a drought and we were doing some pretty serious rain dances but this is a tad much.

Shocked Shocked Holy hell, I've been watching the coverage on cannel 9 for the last 3 days now--
and really feel for these guys up near brissy, as of this morning sorrounding ares of the brisbane are
pretty much under water .
Shocked lots of residential properties with water levels up to the eves (on a house on stilts)
, major business buildings( huge buildings like harvey normans ) that have water levels only just shy of their eves.
Truly a huge disaster and my heart goes out to any of the members who are experiencing this and all the other
resisdents that have had to endure this horrible event. Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

cheers J

when Sheffield flooded in 07 I was on holiday down south so only could on watch TV. Got a right shock when I saw my work under 4ft of water. Though the business carried on it never really recovered and closed in November. I had long left.

My thoughts are with everyone who is suffering down in Oz.

Stannyblade, we too were on our hols when the Sheffield floods hit, we were in Malta though, and it was totally freaky to watch sky news with your home town under water.

My heart too goes out to those in Oz, it truly is devastating what has happened, and lets hope that the support for those who have suffered is there for them, just as it has been in the past for other countries ..............
