| hrmmm, doesnt look good mate. She looks a bit sick. I would be getting her into a quarintine tank quick and treating her with some anti-bacterial stuff as I suspect its an internal infection. | |

| Hi i found the l309 dead and i presume she had been chomping on it but she died this morning. allso i found another female daed in the tank this morning. all i can think is the wild cought l309 had some sort of undrly lieing problem. my large male has a split in his tail i prsume hes going the same way. such a shame i have about 100fry in the tank just hatched.
both bristlenose had red sores on there backs and frayed fins this process from being perefctly healthy took 2 days. so confused. i think i may just get rid of the lot of them

| No don't get rid. You will get over this. I had a mystery illness in my tank a year ago and it ran its course (I suppose) and not all the BNs succumbed to what was a horrid illness. That also happened after aquiring a new fish All is fine now and I can't keep up with the breeding! Reluctantly I am leaving the latest spawn in the tank to take their chance as I can't cope with any more babies - over 200 to date. If anyone reads this and wants any just ask. Keep going with your tank and hopefully some babies will come through if not all. Not much use as advice I know but don't make a decision you'll regret. Good luck. June | |

| June is right, don't give up yet.
I would have imagined the fry would have been the first to succumb to this infection so if they are still alive then things look positive, start a course of anti-bacterial, if you haven't already and hopefully some will survive.

| Sorry for your losses - we've all been there at some point in our fish-keeping lives, it just happens. I lost some adult L144's and albino longfins, the only problem I could put it down to was lack of water changes when I was in a pot! Nitrates went thru the scale! | |
