So sorry to hear that, it's a very big thing we all have to learn, Iv been breeding for
3 years now and it still upsets me to see a dead fry. Haha I love every one of them...

As stated, fingers crossed it was just natural selection.

Probably is just down to natural selection, I am asssuming that they have access to food all the time.

Yea there is food always available and the rest look all fine so maybe just one of those things. They have been out of the cave for two and a half weeks and all has been well till that little one died.

Do you think at this small size that if i transfered them to another tank it would kill them?

Glad to hear they are all looking good, it would be good to leave them there in that tank until they get to 1cm+ to ensure they are stronger...

Hhmm. Perhaps if the tank is not over flowing (the bioload isn't to high) then I'd say leave them in there for another fortnight or so. It's personal preference but obviously the bigger they are the easier it is for them to survive the shock of moving...

Just found one of my babies dead Empty
PostSubject: Moving fry   Just found one of my babies dead EmptyThu Sep 29, 2011 7:14 am

Hello,

L144 eggs hatched in a 5 litre tank and I kept them in there for 3 weeks before moving them to a 92 litre tank.

You should watch their development closely, and move them only when they are strong enough. Not just their size matters, but condition, as well.
I do daily WCs but after the second week only every other day. On the third twice a week.
In the growing tank, I change water once a week.
No problem occured and works fine for me and my juvenile L144s.

Wish you good luck.

Best regards,
Mary

Hi Mary, thankyou for that info I am watching them very closely and they seem to be doing great,I lost just the one wich was sad but must of been one of those things. They are in a 60 litre at the moment and will be moving them to a bigger tank when they seem like they could handle it,but i am not going to rush it.
