SOmebody seems to be using my picture's on ebay....

The same seller is listing his fish on Aquarist Classifieds, but without photo's.

you think they would have the decency to ask first......
im pretty relaxed about these things as long as im asked before hand.....

but the pic is of big freddy who has passed so thats why im a little annoyed....

I think it'll get taken down anyways. It's against ebays t&c to sell livestock. At least eBay au.

If you go on google images this picture comes up, I downloaded it as it was the picture that looked the most like mine had no idea it would bother someone !! and I'm not being funny but can't see your name and contact details to ask.

Its not the end of the world, at least the guy replied which im happy about, in a way its a good thing that images on google relate back to this place...and as we are the only place for bristlenose plecs then this thing will happen alot......

So a lesson for you all here, when you post a pic make sure to put your name on the image like mooo does.......

it is kind of hard to monitor but weighing the good with the bad, I did say whenever you post on here it comes up on google searches now adays..

You never know the guy may start to use the site more and actually contribute positively now on:)

Sad to see it was used with no permission but guess it will happen... I don't mind either the majority of times... it is hard to accept when it is a prize fish you have lost, but
looking positively at it... you helped the fish live on in the heart and minds of people now searching for pictures anbd photo's of the the specimen / creature...

would be nice we got more praise and thanks for the hard work we put it...

this is a good topic .Should always put your name to a photo.I have seen this before.

Funny this. A guy here in Adelaide was selling albino longfin pairs a couple weeks ago. I had a look at the pictures and one was of a nice big fat female I used to have. I didn't say anything coz I didn't really care but dunno why people can't take there own pics when selling fish

Speaking of somebody here in adelaide. There was somebody that copy and pasted my add on gumtree for common bristlenose fry. I called him up and told him to make his own because it was making me look bad...

Thankfully he took his add down not long after. But it's frustrating and disrespectful that some people don't want to take the time to advertise their own fish with pictures and wording.

I guess some people don't mind others using their photo's .. though it is always nice to get a compliment or thank you for having the time to take them,
even more so when others are using them to sell there fish.

Although on the other hand you have to bear in mind that not all fish look alike, and it could form the fact that the the seller is in fact mis representing the fish, as you never know whether they will be better or worse stock....

glad to see you got the thanks in the end and the people do end up sometimes coming to the site and becoming members

Agreed it is a little flattering but...I have had people steal my pics a few times now, boils my blood, they didn't stand until their back was screaming in pain ....just to get nice photos, it wasn't their effort, I put a lot of time into my pics , and it is a low act to steal someone else's hard work like that, cos they are too lazy to do it them selves. ..might just look like a pic, but the owners time went into it...it's not nice to use other people...Hope you catch the low scumbag using your photos Curby

PS I been slack lately with adding water marks , oops..But still.. I know my fish and photos & so does a whole heap of other forumites....I'll find anyone who steals em...
