Jsut seen THIS on Ebay.

I'm I right but don't they grow to monster proportions, there is not one word in the advert about the potential size.

I know the name of the seller, Rivermonsters, should be a clue but I still think it's irresponsible selling Evil or Very Mad

As you stated, irresponsible. I would add greedy, as well.

Scientific name is Atractosteus spatula, and the grown ups' size could reach a couple of metres, at least.
However, if kept in aquariums, they would hardly reach the 1m size.

I keep and breed Stenolucius hujeta (freshwater barracuda) without any problem. Size of parents is around 30-40 cm, which is normal in captivity.
They are laying - or spraying onto sideglass above water level, I should say - eggs, regular clockwork.
