when can i move dad back?

just a quck question, i moved dad and fry into grow out tank, when can big daddy move on back to main tank?

How long since he released the fry and how many females do you have? I usually give him a couple weeks after fry release to build up some strength. I asked if extra females because if there are more waiting then he will be on eggs not long after you put him back in, then he's better off relaxing with the fry. If there is only the one female then that should give him enough time before she's ready again, so if that's the case he can go back in.

ok cool, yeah theres just 1 female, not shore if he released them as they chose the worst place to have them (some how big daddy dug a hole in the gravel up into the big rock thing i have, its hollow, sum how he got her up there as well,) by the time i found him and the fry, they where already swimming around in there, so i set up my other tank and tipped them into it, bout a week ago, , i hav now got a cocconut set up for him which i hope he uses, as i dont want him to use the rock thing again but i have cleared a space round the rock cause i know theres at lest 1 fry still in there, but i know he will try to shoot back in the rock, ohh the drama!!lol

He should be fine to put back in the main tank. The female wouldn't be ready yet so he will get some rest. If you don't want him breeding in the rock then why not move it into the fry tank for them to hide in.

i made 2 cocconut houses 4 them and set them up in the main tank, i pulled out the fake rock and set it aside im not going to go through that drama again i put big daddy back into main tank and hes already taken 1 of the houses, mum set up shop under bog wood.
