BC Tankmates Empty
PostSubject: BC Tankmates   BC Tankmates EmptySat Oct 13, 2012 11:15 am

Hi, i've never had any BC's before and am thinking of getting one. I have a 40gal tank with 3 guppies, 4 neon tetras, 4 swordtails, and 2 mollies. Will it be ok to have a BC? or will my tank be too over crowded?

Some help or suggestions is appreciated.
Thank you

i am assuming a BC is a bristlenose. yes, a single bristlenose would be fine. though you will need to supplement its diet with some algae wafers Smile

Hi there;
I agree with Doug at leaving it at just one.
Also the occasional piece of zuchinni would be really appreciated. Just make certain it is well washed (organic or not)
They make great fish to have in a tank. BC Tankmates 1153438146
Tell us how he goes.

Oops! Yeah sorry, i meant a Bristlenose. I just want to know if they are easy to look after or not, the ones i see in my local pet shop are only around 2cms in length. I am also planning to put one in my outdoor pond during the summer, is this ok or not?

they are easy as to look after in a tank.

Please do not put one on a pond outside. while they are able to survive out there over the summer it is also illegal in a pond that can overflow into any natural waterway (which is any pond).
