DIY slate caves help

I have been looking at slate caves and want to build a few myself, I was wondering if anyone knows how to tell if the slate is aquarium safe, or even better if anyone knows where to get some aquarium safe slate in adelaide

Here is a site that will help you to determine the safety of the slate in your aquarium. As to wehre to get slate. I have no idea. Hope this helps.

Thanks for that but What i didn't understand was do you use the acid and the vino gear or just the one

You can use either one. But, only use one of them. The only thing I have seen bubble up as of yet was a piece of sandstone. I think slate is safe but I have never used it so I don't know for sure.

Ok, I've read that some slate is ok because it's 100% natural but others are not so good so I just want to be 100% sure before I start buying aome

just as long as it is not treated with anything. Generally if you go to a flooring place they will have broken slate bits you can have for cheap as chips. just ask for untreated stuff.
