Veggie Weights..

I finally got my BN to eat veggies but I still had a problem. The zucchini I was feeding would always become dislodged from the suction cup and stem contraption I trying to use. The suction cup was a bear to remove from the tank when changing food daily and I would have to search for the food to remove. I didn’t want to put anything sharp or use a material that could harm my BN. I saw a solution called a veggie screw that made sense. I noted that it was made of stainless steel and seemed tank and fish safe. The cost was a bit prohibitive and it had to be delivered by mail. I was looking for a fast, cheap and easy solution.

I idea was to visit the hardware store and purchase two stainless steel split washers aka locking washers for $0.31 apiece. I brought them home, used two adjustable wrenches to open them a bit and I used a file to knock off all rough or sharp edges where the split had been cut. It took about three minutes to prepare the two of them for use. They are very easy to use…

Do you guys do anything special to the forks or do you use them just as they come. Any pics? And, while we are at it; does anyone have other solutions to keeping veggies from floating?

I use metal BBQ skewers Smile

makes it easy to retrieve as i tie a piece of fishing line to it Smile

i wedge a bit of vege on the end, throw it in. once its done I take the for out and stick a new bit of vege on it. Nice and easy

I use forks, rubberbands/rocks, and veggie clips all with no problems : )
