|Subject: What age and length are BN going to breed? Sat Aug 09, 2014 11:19 am|| |
Hello, Steve Framke in Richmond Hill, Ga. First post.
I'm new to BN's and was wondering what age they are ready to breed? I've purchased a group of young ones a little over an inch how long it takes the from here to grow them out to adulthood. Also how long are they able to breed once mature?
Many Thanks, Steve

Hey Steve and welcome to bristlenose world
With Bristlenose it is more about age than size. You are generally looking for them to be about 9 months to a year old. This is when they are normally around 9cms long but there are records of them breeding shorter than that, or bigger
Normally they will have a good breeding life of a few years once they get going but it depends how hard you work them, particularly the males
