Sold as "Golden Ancistrus - not the albino one!"... lol

Hello! I got these for about a fiver from a lady who got them in a trade, she said she wasn't exactly sure which BN they were, but she was told "Golden Ancistrus - not the albino one!" which wasn't to helpful with google lol. They do have red eyes I think, its hard to tell as I only ever see them in bright light.

Anyway, I'd appreciate if you all had any ideas, I'd like to get some more and make sure I am feeding them the right stuff - they don't seem to have grown any, I'd say they are stuck at about 3 inch TL, and no sign of bristles yet!

Thanks so much for the reply! Just common albinos then? Good to have an answer For a fiver I didn't expect them to be anything very special, but they do their job at keeping my tank tiny

I have 5 of them in there, only see three at any time outside of dinner hour, one or two have a little bit of a 5 o'clock shadow though haha

Going to give them a little longer or take better pictures of them all to get them sexed, I am sure they are all related so I don't dare breed them to each other!

no problems thats what the forums for glad to here your not going to breed them together with them being related it goes through me to be honest

yeah it kinda weirds me out haha. Will be sorting the out soon as my husband wants a few to tidy up his tank and take some pics of them. At least one is looking a bit bristly though, so its a good sign lol.

Yup ABN to me any of them got any bristle yet, they will start around the mouth, if you have a male may be starting to show

one or two have bristles, but not many! Guess I am in for the waiting game haha.
