OK so who has spawned them?
Lets hear the story :-)

I have 4 males and 7 females of breeding age.
One pair has spawned twice but they are in a tank with some clown(340) plecos and both times the clowns got the eggs I think.

I also have 19 teenage 183s just getting to sexable size...so I hope to form several successful pairs.

I think I am going to set up some trios in their own 20g tanks and see what happens.

Anybody going to want some babies soon? haha wish me luck

Yup I'd would really like to take a few, you don't see a lot of true L183 in OZ.
Geez I'm glad I had a quick peek in the book before typing Laughing
L340 = nice fish-really nice , that's a "mega clown pleco" for those of you don't have a book in front of them, and it's a hypancistrus, compared to L104 which is panaquolus maccus , and really don't see a lot of L340 up 4
grabs in OZ.
I'd swap out the 20gal grow out for 50's- I know they cost a bit more but it would save you sload of maintenance and
cleaning on tanks, a couple of second hand tank's shouldn't cost to much in USA, I'd then transfer the breeders( the real good ones that do it regular) to inspire the younger fishes( allthough I wouldn't do that last bit until your confident that the L183's breed like common bristlies )
Good luck with it all trebor69 sounds like you have bit work in front of you, I wouldn't mind seeing some pix
of the L340 too Good Job .
cheers J

Well....I am going to be moving to a new home soon. Maybe the move will jolt the fish into spawning mode. It may also be an opportunity for pics. There is always much debate when it comes to ID'ing 340s and 129s. I call mine 340s because that's what I bought them as and I am not expert enough to be 100% certain myself.

I am dreading moving 15 tanks though. Three 75 gal...a 40...three 29g...and eight 20s. The 20s are all on one rack which has to be disassembled to get it out which is a bummer.

15 tanks to move Shocked , at least they are big enough for just you pick up by yourself unlike a 5ftr and a 4ftr.
I hope your move goes smoothly and does inspire your fish to get rockin.
I just took a peek at the Aqualog and I am keen to see some pix of your L340/L129, in the book I can see plenty of difference, it shouldn't be to hard to get an I.D for you.

Which Aqualog are you looking at? I have the one called "all L-Numbers" and the numbers don't go up to 340

Mine might be an update , this book goes to L350 and then a heap of LDAno in the back of the book
cheers J

And was copyrighted 2004 so I'm only guessing it was printed then

Hmmm mine has the same title but appears to be a 1995 version by 2 different guys. Now I am going to have to search out a copy of the newer one.....

Edit: is the new version available in English or is it in only German?
