I bought a tank as a job lot with filter, heater, lights, gravel, plants etc for a very cheap price. It also came with 4 gouramis, a couple of neon tetras and a 5 inch common plec. I have split the gouramis and the tetras between the two tanks I have set up already as I want to set this tank up as a breeding tank, but I'm wary of putting the pleco in a tank with Bristlenoses.

Am I right to be wary or will it be okay?

Hi, i have 3 bristlenose and 2 common plecos in the same tank and there has been no problem, i also have a sailfin pleco that is almost a foot long and no problems with him either.

Hope this helps Very Happy

James

PS: be aware, common plecos are know to have reached up to 2 foot in aquariums, they are big fish Smile

your biggest issue will be size and places to hide. They are all similar fish (except size) and will all need hiding places and space. As James mentions the pleco will get big. if they are all satisfied with the number of places to hide without getting in each others way you should be fine.

Okay I put him in one of my tanks earlier today and everything seem okay. There's lots of bogwood and ceramic caves so it should be okay. Thanks for the advice.
