Yes, they will, but it's unpredicatable of what the outcome would be. Also, if calico and albino are both recesive genes, then you may end up with browns, which is the dominant gene. You could end up with a mix.

For example, my longfin albinos and longfin browns both spawn true, BUT there always are some fry that are not longfinned, this is to do with the dominant gene.

At the end of the day people will always breed unrelated colours to try and create something different. Also, the chances of the two that you wish to breed being related are very slim.

The problem also is that if you do manage to get a longfin calico from the spawning, it doesn't automatically mean it will breed true.

I hope that has helped to clear it up a little for you. Very Happy

Good post ^^

I had the joy of watching a 20 gallon overflowing with Guppies for many years, and if theres one thing you notice is that even when you select what male breeds with a selected group of females no matter how long they are paired you will always end up with something other than the pair you have. Then again this is mostly due to the fact that guppies are called "millions fish" for a reason.

What I'm trying to say goes along the same line as Angi-N-Wayne.
If you do decide to mix the LF Albino and the LF claico the end result could be a vast number of things. You could even end up with an LF albino Calico, chances are it wont be a true albino and the chances are very slim that it will produce one similar to itself.

Good luck with whatever you decide!!

Thanks for the reply, it does clear it up. I thought it was just a matter of colors. I don't have plans to cross them. I do have both but separate and they always will be seperate.

perents are a longfin male (dad) and a common female (mum)

these have got the longfin gene 50% !

/ if u breed them with a pure longfins / you get 75% & longfin fry !

/ if u breed them with a pure common / you will get 25% chance longfin fry !

/ if they breed these fry together / you will get 50% / 50% chance longfin / common mix !

as mine breed longfin dad with a common female before i splat them up
and got 300 fry
