| I've done some searching, but can someone steer me in the direction to learn where the bristlenose calico came from? And is there a 'rating' for the amount of color one has? Do they tend to darken?  | |

| I have not come across where the calico BN derived from, perhaps Doug can be of help here?? I also don't think there is a rating of color per se, that usually comes about for exhibition purposes and I don't think BN are generally show fish yet. Calico does show variation in both the amount of dark color and intensity of the red undercolor. The fry are reddish and the dark pigment develops as they mature. | |
