| Just thought I pop up a picture of one my my Rio's I caught out today These little fellows are groing up fast, except for the one with the large white spots (see my ID thread), he seems to have grown either much slower than the others, or not at all! Also, I found that it wasn't Tim killed by the Shark, it was infact my younger one Gary. I netted him out and had a good look at him the other day, and he growing pretty big, I'd say he's nearing the 10cm mark, or just over it! Will try get more pics soon, I'd probably update this thread as I go | |

| Thankyou! I'm definatly going to post some up after my new plants arrive! And yes! There's Exeter Aquatics (featured on PFK website), Theres a Bow Aquatics in a garden a little way out near where I live, a few other petstore places like 4pets (a bit pricey but often stock a lot of cichlids), The Ark (lovely place, the guy in there is awesome!) P@H (they're 'okay' enough). Also, a little way out theres a Maidenhead Aquatics in a place called Jacks patch out a Teignmouth, thats worth a visit just to dribble over the display tanks! That said, Bow is also worth that, as they have a few marine display tanks and a frigging huuuge tank behind the counter! They also stock a few plecs, but are a bit pricy. I like to get my plants in there for three reasons: 1 snail free 2 Cheap but good 3 One of the guys always gives me extra for free ;D But please do not go to Exeter Pet and Garden, the woman in there is a complete -rudeword-, and their tanks are always poorly maintained :P Lol, I love my city! | |

| Top foto Spreebok , but looking at the fish now it has relaxed down a bit I'm thinking it's another A. Hopolgenys and not A.Rio Ucayali( which I think we have determined to be the "orange spot") don't you just love trying to I.D these fish J | |

| ( Apologies for the triple post ^^; ) Hey Kurosaki, any chance you can show me a picture of these A. Hopolgenys, plus a common name is you can. I fail at the Latin names, and when I google it I get White Seam and Snowflake BN's :P Also, I've posted the recent photo's above, here's a few from the ID from when we ID'd them: Small Spotted Ones (Well, I dunno which is which, but they look exactly the same, save for a few bristle diffrences) Large Spotted One: The game continues! xD | |

| High Spreebok, A.Hoplogenys is the common name (real name), I've also had Mark the owner of Aggies try to tell me that the pepps we get in OZ are Hoplogenys--"wrong". This is what I was getting at with recent pix: Large spotted fellow. First of the 2 fish that were assesed as A.Hoplogenys - Quote :

(Well, I dunno which is which, but they look exactly the same, save for a few bristle diffrences) Now this is the closest pic I can find of the Rio Ucacyali /O-spot we get in OZ Note the lack of bold white spots and the spots leaning towards an orange colour. I can definately see a difference between Hoplogeys and Rio Ucayali-- what do you think Spreebok J | |

| Oh yeah another thing -- that slate cave setup is it siliconed together? if it's not then I'd get on to that , if those slate pieces come crashing down, ooohhh I'd hate to imagine the outcome. J | |

| Cave is indeed siliconed, spent a whole evening turning the air blue when it kept falling over during curing lol! Oh, I can deffo see the difference now! Even my eldest one (over a year old, about 7cm) still has very bright and defined spots. Plus the general shape is wrong as well, mine have more common BN shaped bodies and heads! Is there any chance you can point to me an accurate refrence page for A.Hoplogenys, just so I can visually confirm with myself? | |
