| A spoon....easiest method ive found.......
Push the handle of your spoon along the rind of the courgette......carefully...
or use a fork...
or a veggie clip...... | |

| I used to use plant lead weights - I always get more than I need when I have them delivered although I forget who suggested this - a metal kebab / BBQ skewer. You hook the curved bit over the top of your tank and it makes getting the courgette out a breeze. Both my BN's were a pain until I swtiched to this as they'd hang on while I'd try and net it out. Not very photogenic though. | |

| I just use a penny piece. The newer coins dont have copper in them so they are fine. A mate of mine has used them for years. That said I do want to give the screwcumbers a go | |

| I got a hold of some stainless steel rods about 1/8" in diameter. They are 12" and I cut them in half and bend them into a U withthe ends pointed. I tie a peice of fishing line to them and tape it to the outside of the tank so I can retreive them easily to replace the food, I like them alot a very nice system dont have to get my hands wet!! Ill post some pics | |

| I have tried stainless steel knife's and they are ok, though can be awkward to retrieve from a 18inch deep tank when you arm is short too....lol... I have also tried those wine bottle tops you get from the shop which push in to top of the bottles.... just tied a little cotton round the veggie and the wine stopper and your good to go | |

| i use stainless steel chopsticks. very nifty if you ask me. its like the stainless steel knife concept that deano suggested but chopsticks are skinnier and you poke the wood easily and it stays on to the food longer i find compared to the bigger spoons and that | |

| I like to use stainless steel skewers. I use suction cups designed to hold airline tubing and put a small piece of airline tubing on each prong so I don't have to get my fingers wet. It also keeps the sharp end up out of the water so that no one gets hurt. | |
