| the l201 female i had went to a good home the other day, when i caught it to put in the tank i said it looked gravid which it did i get a call the very next morning its trapped in the alpha l201s cave | |

| how much do these plecos retail for usually in shops or privatly?also do they lose there spots like the peppermints? | |

| Depends where you are. L201s are amoung the more common and therefore cheeper L number catfish.
You can get fry for under $100 ususally, sometimes cheeper if sevral breeders have spawns at the same time and are going head to head for sales.
As they get older their spots don't fade, the stay the same as when they are juvis. striking fish! I have 2 and love em, paid $90 each for them | |

| Doesn't look like these juvis are proper contradens. At their rate of growth its going to take about 6 years to grow to contradens size so I think they are just common L201's. Still on the lookout for a contradens female if anyone has one. This is my male who needs a girl friend. Its a shame there doesn't seem to be any females to be had in Australia as he's a magnificent male.  | |
