POME is what us Aussies call you Brits.

It comes from back in the day when we were your prison and all the prisoners here called Prisoners of Mother England (P.O.M.E.). Once the people came out here and started to call themselves 'Australian', Pome became a derogatory term to insult those who came from england as prisoners. It has lost all its derogatory meaning now and is used as slang for a person from Brittan.

Although its use is still banned at some sporting events (where it is used more by the english supporters living in Australia insulting the english team Laughing

)

as i said, for us its more of a term of indearment to the original Aussies
