| When i put the food in for the bristlenose they dont eat it they just stay on the ornaments or gravel... i leave then for a few hours come back and the food is still there and i end up taking it out...
should i take some ornaments out? and is it better to have no gravel with bristlenose?? | |

| maybe they dont like the food. have you tried fresh veg? are they adults? maybe you have males, they always prefer caving up than eating most of the time. also feed them at nite, they are nocturnal eaters. altho it doesnt matter what time i put food in my tank the bns are always all over it lol | |

| Bristlenose are shy creatures. I know some people who never see theirs as they always hide. I would suggest adding in a bit of cucumber or waffer and leaving it over night. As they are nocternal creatures they prefer to eat at night. I can tell you that a bristlenose wont starve to death if there is food in the tank, just becasue you dont see it eating doesnt mean that its not. remember that they eat algae and the slime coating on everything in the tank. if they are new to the tank then they may be working their way through that before they turn to the other food stuffs. | |

| I think they need to be comfortable. They love a bit of driftwood, or a cave to hide in during the day, In my opinion if they have their needs met, you will see more of them, they will clean the tank of algae, as it is their favorite, but they need veg also, try leaving them for a few days, then they will jump on some cuc. | |
