Xbox360 4 Red Ring's??

Has anybody come across this prob berfore as my xbox has got 4 red rings every time i switch it on???
I was told it was the scart lead, but i changed it and plugged it in and out loadsa times but still 4 red ring's not 3, ive had 3 red rings before and got it fixed, but ive not been able to play it for ages now so if anybody can help then feel free.............

I've been through all this before myself. My 360 ran great for 3 years and I was super happy with it then about a year ago I had every problem you could possibly have with one. The three rings is no big deal the four rings has something to do with the four chips located on the back of the motherboard. They have a soft almost gum like covering on them to apply pressure and protect from shock. The problem with the protective covering is that they wear out over time and become very ineffective. What I did because I didn't have a warranty on it anymore, was as I opened it up and replaced the gum-like protectors with a standard eraser cut to size and shape and applied them with double-sided tape. Worked great until my disk tray stooped working.

BUT i got my frigging xbox console BANNED yesterday by ,microsoft because it was chipped........

I diidnt even no it was chipped as ive been playing it for a year online like that but they decide to ban me a month before xmas so that i go out and buy another .....if you ask me its a big scam to beat all the other console's at x-mas...

Its proper peed me off............

omg we no 6 more thats been baned this week..we have 3 xboxs hopin ours ok..

i new this one was coming ..arg my hubbys 1 has just been banned and so has 5 more of my sons mates including 1 mates whos whole family cousins and gf have been banned today ..
my son and daughter are just waiting for theirs to get banned reckon its not if but when ..
well seems gonna be a expensive few weeks for me ...

Its a complete joke grrrrrrrr........
What get's me is that ive been playing online for a year with this console and for some strange reason microsoft have choosen a month before christmas to ban over a million x-boxe's.....now in my eye's thats going to be a nice payday for microsoft at xmas time.......a well thought plan....scamming gits...

Ok you could say its our own faults for having chipped system's but iam on sumert like my 3rd or 4th xbox due to the fact of the crappy red rings fault...

so although xbox is a great system when everythings fine just count up the amount of dosh you have spent on them££££$$$$$$ lots.........

Ive now accepted the fact my console is useless for online gaming so ive give it to my 4year old son....and i will have to buy a new console but not at xmas as thats what i really think microsoft want....they dont need the dosh just the sale's rating ie. beating Playstation, wii etc......

my sons xbox has also been banned ..so 2 out of 3 at the moment ..my daughter never goes on line so were hoping hers will be safe ..
called in game and gamestation asked what their take on it is ..they said they cant tell if anys banned so possibility is all 2nd hand are but will sell them as not and if theyre banned then they will replace them with another and so on ...
luckally my lad had his wages so he went and brought a new 1 from gamestation .
wont be getting this chipped ..
my sons keeping his old 1 to play the chipped games as can still play them off line ..
and hubbys sold his to a friend whos xbox broke who doesnt go online anyway so he will have to put rest to it for a new one as not taking chance on 2nd hand anymore ..
the amount of xboxs that were sold with the knowledge that they would end up broke with red rings is a joke then they bring out a cooler for the fan and expect to you fork out again to fix their fault ..
if a shop can afford to sell the latest game for £25.00 on offer then why do they sell them for £40. seems a big profit margain to me ...
like curby said a rating war with ps3 has brought this about ..whats the bet after xmas you wont see anyone else banned for about 6 months till its another launch they want to win and that way they will also get all the ones who've had to buy a new xbox and got that chipped too ..

on the up managed to get hubby modern warfare game including nightvision goggles new from hmv for £119.00 seems they have few in store still .

FINALLY i got back online today woooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!

I had to get a new console though.....

The red ring of death is caused by the X-box processors and heat exchangers.

I have fixed my sons X-box over a year ago with no problems since.

Anyone local to me needing theirs repaired ? I do not chip them.

Give me a shout.

just been told a new flash is out but its only works for a thing for a lighton drive apparently different 360's have different drives and unless you open it you never no which one youve got ..

we decided to keep just 1 for the latest games as had a bit of luck went to collect hubbys 360 elite xbox from comet as they had a deal on before xmas £189.00 for the elite + 4 games + a extra controller ..comet didnt have the extra controller or 2 games when we brought it so they said theyd send it out but they sent a extra elite console and stuff ..my lucky day well hubbys and son so they had new elites and me i got my peace and quiet back lol xxx

i had this like 3 weeks ago. If you go on the site you can order a repair. As its covered by warranty even if the 3 year warranty has ran out.

Ah just read yours was chipped.
Your bound to get banned if your using live with a chipped unit, its all over their site about em cutting down on it, fair enough tho really. if you sent it off now they might even take it off you. Pluss they wont repair it as im guessing the warranty sticker has been broken in the process of chipping it.
