| Hey mate, sorry we all missed this thread. Awesome work with the spawn. good move taking the babiees out of the main tank. For several reasons. firstly, they are perfect angel food and they wont last long in with them. Secondly, once the babies need to be moved it is very hard to catch them all without removing all the stuff in the tank. Seems that you now know how long til they come out and start swimming around Best thing to do is to throw in a bit of cucumber so they have something to eat. algae wafer can be a bit too strong for their little tummies. Good luck with them any more questions fire away, we love to help | |

| good luck and congrats, wise choice about removing them....
some sound advice up to now, dont worry about the male eating, he will find time and quite often when your not loooking he will scurry off and grab some food then come back to protect the babies or eggs and carry on fanning them....
if you dont have much air or oxygen in the tank an extra air stone or two can help and I happened to only lose 1 baby out of over 110 recently so like advised just keep the water clean and feed accordingly and you should be good to go...
once they start breeeding you should be ok...
infact mine are breeding about every 3 weeks right now and I cant keep pace with them....
I think I might have to isolate the female soon it is getting that bad.....
all the best and keep us informed.....
keep the pictures coming...
regards

| Cucumber is up there with the best things for them when they are young. i also suplliment them with algae waffers every now and again. try not to feed them too much protein as that can lead to bloat and bloat is often fatal in fry | |
