| Hi everyone, just wanted to introduce myself. I live in the northeast of england, near newcastle. I've been in the fish keeping business for about 3 years now. started off by inheriting 3 goldfish off a children's nursery where I used to work. When i first got the 3 goldfish i had no idea of fishkeeping. the nursery did waterchanges whenever the water got so bad that the kids couldn't see the fish. they would just change all the water and thenfill it up again with tapwater. once I had the fish, I started reading everything I could get my hands on. first thing was getting some stuff to get the chemicals out of the tapwater when doing waterchanges. then a decent filter, ect. I then read up on what other fish I could keep with the goldfish. and that's when I came across the bristlenose plecos. I got 2 common brown ones and turns out they were male and female. from there I went on to selling the goldfish, and starting with tropical fish. I now have 5 peppered corys, 2 albino corys and 6 bronze corys. the bronze corys lay eggs like mad. with every waterchange they will lay eggs the next day. have about 20 babies growing up at the minute. I also have 22 black neon tetras and 2 bolivian rams, one crowntail betta, and 2 L182 bristlenose plecos (2 males I think). Altogether I have 3 tanks. the main one being a 200L, then a 90L and a 60L. the bristlenose plecos have bred for me about 4 or 5 times in the last 2 years or so. I sell the babies to the LFS. I am now hoping to find a couple of female L182s for my 2 boys and hope that they will breed for me. I am also looking into getting either some L144s or some longfinned albinos. hope to learn loads more on this forum, Marion | |
