| Here is the sultan pleco... Minimum Tank Size:200 litres Diet:Omnivore Origin:South America Temp (C):22-26 C Max Size:15cm Family:Loricariidae Temperament:Peacefull pH:6.5 - 7.0 Care Level:Moderate Grey with black spots. Juveniles have white tips on their fins, which fades to yellow as the animals mature. Adult males have a much longer and broader head with small odontodes on the sides of head, more odontodes on pectoral fin spine and on the whole body, a bigger dorsal fin and normally a prettier coloration Gets on with small lively catfish but avoid too many other larger bottom dwellers (unless space permits) due to the territorial disputes. More active when kept in a group Not a fussy eater. Primarily herbivorous, but appreciates some meat in its diet. Will eat sinking pellets and vegetables such as cucumber, and relishes meaty foods such as krill. According to some reports, in nature it feeds on insect larvae. Fry require more protein in the form of baby brine shrimp, etc Approximate Purchase Size: Medium 6cm -7cm | |

| Had three for about 4 weeks, share the same tank as my peppermints.
Not much to keep and care for, but lovely fish. | |

| Think I'm going to trade off my Gold Nugget for the Sultan that came into the lfs where I work. Hoping he will be a bit more visible than my Gold Nugget | |

| I finally tore my whole community tank apart to capture my Gold Nugget (and a few other fishys) and took him into work to trade him off for the Sultan. So Far I just love, love, love my Sultan !!. I do miss my beautiful GN but he was just so shy that I never saw him. Good news is that I bought the Gold Nugget wild caught and kept him for 4 months and acclimated him well and he is in excellent condition. So whoever buys him will be over the initial hump of trying to accimate a wild caught plec. Funny thling is tho, I just won't sell him to just anyone. Someone actually wanted to buy some of my ABN babies to put in with a gold fish and I had to redirect them to something more appropriate. But, my Sultan is one handsome fish and sits right out front where you can see him !! I'm really enjoying that. Think it's a female, Anyone got a male ??? | |
