| thanks that was great links but not what i was expecting so the question is - would it be possible to have a white seem common bristlenose? or would the seem fade out as it gets older | |

| as far as i know theres no such thing as a white seem common , there are similar looking bn .if you already have the bn you should put up a photo so it can be id correctly colin ps sorry i missed the h of the link. | |

| its what iv bred from my commons still small yet to get a decent pic of it. but the white seems on it are very bright not dull in colour like the rest of the batch | |

| If it's from common BN's then the white on the fins will fade as it get older. I've had variations in colour when very young but by the time they are a few cms they are the same as there siblings. | |

| the white seem will fade as Jim said. It is very strong on common longfins but again it fades over time. I have never had a shortfin keep its white tips for more than a few months | |

| yeah have to admit out of all my 100 or so pleco's babies in the tank there are about 20 with white seams's and have to say that in the past by the time they have got to 6 months and ready for sale have all grown out or faded... | |
